The next few days are looking to be cooler and overcast...Normally, such a weather forecast does not portend bad fishing on the lower Madison. However, yesterday's fishing trip out on the river was not that great. The water is definitely rising and it is getting pretty murky out there. More water must be being released from the damn. Your next few days may be better spent planning your next fly fishing trip to southwest Montana. :)
If you can, take advantage of this most decidedly spring day to fish the lower Madison River. Today maybe the only sun we get for a few days. The weekend is not looking too good. If you do get out on the river, today, then expect to see our old friends, the American White Pelicans. Get out and enjoy!
Thursday and Good Friday look to be very sunny in southwest Montana. At least one of those days should be spent doing some fly fishing. My go to spot will be on the upper Madison. Maybe I'll see you there. :)
Can you believe it?...We're still waking up to snow in southwest Montana. Yes, I know...Practice patience. Summer will be here soon enough. At least we have summertime photos and videos of the upper Madison River, like this, that will keep us going. :)
Spring warmth has been trickling in slowly but surely this year. Rest assured you'll be surrounded by snow capped mountains on the upper Madison River perhaps for weeks to come. Enjoy the views and the fishing!
