Are you one to see images in the clouds? Perhaps you'll find the 'monster' in this pile of rocks found at the Point Of Rocks, Yellowstone River fishing access site. Enjoy your Tuesday, everyone. It's snowing again here...a good day to just sit back and plan the next fishing trip on the Yellowstone. :)
Southwest Montana awoke to a thin layer of snow today. This cold snap will only last a few more days, however; and, then we can get back to spring fishing and outdoors fun. In the meantime, bundle up and, heck, do some shopping for that new Montana cabin. :)
It's not severe, yet; but, the Yellowstone River is starting to take on some color from snow melt. Our cold weather over the next week should hold it at bay for a while. It looks like spring fishing is going to be upended within the next few weeks, though. :(
The next few days are looking to be cooler and overcast...Normally, such a weather forecast does not portend bad fishing on the lower Madison. However, yesterday's fishing trip out on the river was not that great. The water is definitely rising and it is getting pretty murky out there. More water must be being released from the damn. Your next few days may be better spent planning your next fly fishing trip to southwest Montana. :)
If you can, take advantage of this most decidedly spring day to fish the lower Madison River. Today maybe the only sun we get for a few days. The weekend is not looking too good. If you do get out on the river, today, then expect to see our old friends, the American White Pelicans. Get out and enjoy!
