...concentrate on the northern part of The Park, entering through the Roosevelt Arch in Gardiner, Montana, early in the day. Look out for Bighorn sheep and elk as you climb the road to Mammoth Hot Springs.
Each year, around this time, fly fishing the Firehole River inside Yellowstone National Park comes to mind and inches to the top of my yearly bucket list.

Early Spring turns out to be a very good time to cruise the geyser basin boardwalks and trails. There are hardly any crowds; and, your chances of seeing wildlife or witnessing an unexpected thermal event appear to be much higher and, perhaps, more rewarding.
