Over the past few weeks, I constructed the new Montana Treasures online store. Within this online store I am selling printed products that cater to outdoors enthusiasts and people who love the State of Montana.
I believe falling in love with one’s own product designs and themes makes for the best results. Since I am an avid fly fisherman and outdoorsman in love with the State of Montana, I decided it was time to create some Montana-inspired products.
I think my illustration, graphic design, and art production skills are pretty darn good at this stage of my career; so, I started out designing graphics inspired by the local scenery. With Yellowstone National Park, world class hiking, camping, backpacking, skiing, kayaking, boating, and fly fishing within minutes of my home studio, there is a wealth of inspiration too.
My first products have been fly-fishing t-shirts, signs, and stickers dedicated to the local blue ribbon trout streams, rivers, and lakes. I created hand crafted type and illustrations for three local rivers, right away…the Yellowstone, the Madison, and the Gallatin Rivers.
Anyone who has fished these Montana rivers will understand that it is a privilege to fish them; and, it is pretty darn cool. My first t-shirt designs are simply a trophy that you can take home with you to remind you of that river in Montana that everyone told you about and that you finally fished. It’s a humble brag that you fished Big Sky Country.
In the coming year, I look forward to creating more Montana-inspired product designs and placing them in the new Montana Treasures Facebook store. Stay tuned.
